American football player Travis Kelce will not accompany his girlfriend, singer Taylor Swift, at the Grammy Awards, which take place next Sunday (4).

“I wish I could support Taylor at the Grammys and see her win every award she’s nominated for,” Kelce said on This Wednesday’s episode (31) of “The Pat McAfee Show”.

However, the player explained that he will not be able to attend because he will participate in a training session for the team he plays for, the Kansas City Chiefs, on Saturday (3) and because “unfortunately Sunday is travel day”.

“I need to prepare for the good old Super Bowl, which we have in a week. Football is my main focus now,” she said. His team is preparing to face the San Francisco 49ers in the championship final on February 11.

“In this relationship, we are two people who support each other and have fun, nothing more than that. As much as the world wants to paint the picture and make us enemies… We have fun with it,” she added.

Taylor Swift nominations

The singer has been nominated for six Grammys, including album of the year for her 2022 album, “Midnights.”

If she wins the award, she will break the record for the most wins of any artist in the category.

She has already won the category three times and is currently tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon.

Taylor Swift could also win, for the first time, album of the year and song of the year, both for the track “Anti-Hero” from “Midnights”.

Despite the possibilities of these great feats, she likely understands the lack of Kelce by her side.

The Grammys will be held in Los Angeles next Sunday, with a performance by Trevor Noah, starting at 10 pm.
