Two men died after being hit by a tree last Friday (14) in the São João do Guarany extension, within the Chico Mendes Extractive Reserve, in the rural area of Xapuri (AC).
According to the Fire Department, the men, who did not have their identities disclosed, were removing a tree that fell on an electrical wiring, when they were surprised by another tree that hit them.
Due to the breakdown of the road caused by heavy rains in the region, the corporation had difficulty reaching the scene of the accident. Therefore, the firefighters left the vehicle at the beginning of the extension and used the vehicle of a resident who volunteered to assist in the rescue.
The bodies of the victims were delivered to the Civil Police.
