5. The Ministers of Defense agreed on a common vision underpinning the ever-increasing strategic importance of the Eastern Mediterranean in the present and in the future in the portfolio of energy, climate change and security, the safety of transmission lines and international sea trade routes. They also stressed the importance of their cooperation in enhancing security of energy supply, providing an additional source of energy supply to Europe.
