United States President Donald Trump said on Monday that he had nothing to do with the production of an image that showed him dressed as a pope, but said it was made in a joke.
“I saw last night,” Trump told reporters at the Oval Hall. He said his wife, Melania Trump, found the image “cute.”
Some members of the Catholic community criticized the post.
American cardinal Timothy Dolan said on Sunday (4) that the publication by President Donald Trump of a photo generated by artificial intelligence showing how the Pope “was not good,” but refused to say whether the White House should apologize to the offended Catholics.
Dolan, Archbishop of New York, was asked about the publication on the fringes of a Mass that celebrated in a Church of Rome, before the beginning, on Wednesday (7), of the Conclave-where he and other cardinals with under 80 years will elect the successor of Pope Francis.
