Trump blames Biden and Kamala’s ‘rhetoric’ for alleged assassination attempt

Former US President Donald Trump blamed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday (16) for the alleged assassination attempt he suffered at his golf club in Florida.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, Trump said the suspect “believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris and acted accordingly.”

“Their rhetoric is causing me to be targeted, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones who are destroying the country — both from within and without,” he alleged.

The former president cited comments made by Biden and Kamala that he is a threat to democracy, according to Fox News Digital, and said: “These are people who want to destroy our country.”

The Republican then commented that Biden and Kamala “are the real threat.” “They use highly inflammatory language. I can use it too — much better than they can — but no,” he pondered.

Kamala and Biden speak about alleged attack

Kamala Harris, Minnesota governor Tim Walz, and vice president running mate Joe Biden were quick to express relief that the suspect suspected of plotting to attack Trump had been arrested and that the former president was safe.

The Democratic presidential candidate wrote on social media: “I’m glad he’s safe. Violence has no place in America.”
