United States President Donald Trump responded to Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday, threatening to “immediately” to “immediately” the tariffs against the neighboring country in case of reciprocal.
“Please explain to Canada Governor Trudeau, that when he puts a retaliatory fare in the US, our reciprocal fare will immediately increase in a similar amount,” Trump wrote in a social truth post.
US reciprocal tariffs, which may match the fees of other dollar countries per dollar, are expected to take effect on April 2.
Trump’s response came after Trudeau announced that Canada will implement 25% rates against Canadian $ 155 billion in American products.
The Canadian Prime Minister said the US “launched a trade war against Canada” and that there was “absolutely no justification or necessity” for the US tariffs to Canada, which came into force on Tuesday (4).
