Trump celebrates victory in swing states in speech to House Republicans

The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, spoke this Wednesday (13) to a large group of members of the Republican Party of the House in Washington.

The speech took place before the scheduled meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House.

Trump opened his remarks by boasting about his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the election, noting how many traditional Democratic strongholds have tilted sharply to the right.

“We won in every way, all seven swing states, by a lot,” Trump said.

He suggested that, “next time, if we go up a fraction of what we went up,” Republicans could flip states like New Jersey, New York and California.

Polls indicated a tight scenario between Trump and Kamala in the swing states (Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan), but the Republican won a majority of votes in all of them.
