He had announced it and now he has done it: after being banned from all social media following the assault on Capitol Hill, Donald Trump he created his own. Is called From the Desk of Donald J.Trump (www.donaldjtrump.com) and actually looks more like a blog: a platform where the former American president charges videos and posts of no more than 500 characters in the same colloquial and sometimes aggressive style to which he had accustomed his followers, as well as institutional press releases.
It can create an account to receive notifications every time he publishes something new and for each content you can put a like with a little heart and you can share it on Facebook and Twitter.
A way to get around the censorship? Not really given that once the post is shared, the preview of the content does not appear: there is a simple link to the platform on which to click to read. It is not immediately known what we are talking about and this unintuitive way it does not adapt to the speed the network has accustomed us to.
The result is that the content is meant to be much less viral and (therefore less effective) than they were when the former president posted on Twitter and Facebook. In short, he must resign himself, also because after Twitter (which immediately made it clear that Trump’s expulsion would be permanent), Menlo Park – who initially reserved the right to decide – has just announced that for the former president there will no longer be a place on Facebook or Instagram.
