The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Saturday (30) that he had a “very productive” meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The two discussed border issues and other topics including trade, energy and the Arctic.

“We discussed many important topics that will require both countries to work together to resolve, such as the fentanyl and drug crisis that has claimed so many lives as a result of illegal immigration, fair trade agreements that do not harm American workers, and the enormous trade deficit that USA has with Canada”, said Trump on his social network, Truth Social.

“Trudeau is committed to working with us to end this terrible devastation of American families,” he added.

The immigration crisis was one of the main themes of the Republican’s campaign. Trump promises to carry out mass deportation as soon as he takes office.
