Trump downplays Taylor Swift’s support for Kamala: ‘Very liberal person’

Former President Donald Trump has branded Taylor Swift a “very liberal person” who “always seems to support a Democrat” after the music superstar said she supports Vice President Kamala Harris for president of the United States.

“She will probably pay a price for that in the marketplace,” Trump told Fox News.

Shortly after Tuesday night’s ABC News presidential debate, Swift wrote on Instagram: “I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.”

“I will be voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend them. I think she is a strong and talented leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” the singer added.

Swift added: “I’ve done my research and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours, and the choice is yours. I also want to say, especially to first-time voters: remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered!”

She signed her post, which included a photo with one of her three cats, Benjamin Button, with “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady,” a reference to a phrase previously used by Senator JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, to criticize Democrats.
