Trump excludes aircraft, energy products and orange juices from duties in Brazil

The US has exceeded several of Brazil’s main export sectors from the 50% duties imposed on Brazilian products, with a decree signed today by US President Donald Trump. The exceptions include aircraft, energy products, pulp and orange juices. One of the main concerns of the Brazilian government was the aircraft manufactured by Embraer, which exports 45% of its commercial aircraft and 70% of its private jets in the United States. Economic analysts had also highlighted the enormous impact that threatened the Suzano group, one of the largest paste exporters in the world. The news caused a relief on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange, where Embraer’s stock took off (+11%) while Suzano’s share was also upward. Source: RES
