The US president in a post on the Truth Social platform argued that without the National Guard the city would have been destroyed by turmoil. He also said that local officials should not disagree with him, but thank him. Specifically, he wrote: “We made a great decision by sending the National Guard to confront the violent, motivated riots in California. If we hadn’t done it, Los Angeles would have been completely destroyed.
