It finally seems that Donald Trump has closed the door of Twitter, as he did not see it positively Musk’s referendum on his return to the online platform.
As is known, the previous administration of twitter had “cut” Trump after the invasion of his followers in the Capitol, in January 2021, when his electoral defeat by Joe Biden was finalized.
The result of the “referendum”, with the participation of 30,000,000 users, was narrowly in favor of the return of the former US president – 52% “yes” and 48% “no”.
“Voice of the people, voice of God,” Elon Musk immediately tweeted – and rushed to reopen the former president’s account, which had more than 88 million followers before it was blocked. Without any activity on his part, after Musk’s announcement he started to gather a lot of users again – and reached almost 100,000 within a few hours.
But Trump had not had his last word: “I don’t see any reason for it,” the former president said when asked if he planned to return to Twitter by a panel at the Republican Jewish Association’s annual leadership meeting.
He made it clear he would stick with his new platform Truth Social, the app developed by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) startup, which he said had more user engagement than Twitter and was doing “extremely well.”
