Trump: “If there is going to be a government shutdown, let it start under Biden”

The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, declared this Friday (20) that, if a government shutdown occurs, he wants it to happen while Joe Biden still holds the position of President.

“If there is going to be a government shutdown, let it start now, under the Biden administration, no later than January 20, under the ‘TRUMP’ government,” the president-elect published in Truth Social.

“This is a problem for Biden to solve, but if Republicans can help, they will help!” he added.

The United States House defeated a project that seeks to prevent the freezing of the American federal machine. Congressmen are racing against time to put together a temporary government financing plan.

The pressure mounts as the government could be shut down within days and with disaster relief coffers needing to be replenished.

Lawmakers have until this Friday (20) to approve a federal government financing project — at least temporarily — to avoid a shutdown. As Congress did not approve funds for any agency, all would be affected.

Trump will surpass Biden and become the oldest US president
