Trump invited Chinese President Xi to his inauguration

US President-elect Donald Trump has extended an invitation from November to Chinese President Xi Jinping to his inauguration ceremony on January 20, 2025, CBS News revealed yesterday citing “multiple” unnamed sources. The network added that it is not clear whether Mr. Xi accepted the invitation and will indeed be present at the federal Capitol next month. The Chinese embassy in Washington did not immediately respond when asked by Reuters for comment. In a recent interview with NBC News, the Republican assured that “he is doing very well” with Mr. Si and how they talked recently. Mr. Trump is earmarking several so-called anti-Beijing policy hawks for key positions in his administration. Among others, Senator Marco Rubio is being anointed for the position of Secretary of State.
