Trump launches sneaker line one day after fine of R$1.7 billion for tax fraud

Donald Trump launched his own line of sneakers this Saturday (17), one day after being sentenced to pay a R$1.7 billion fine for tax fraud in New York.

The high-top sneakers are gold in color and should be sold for US$399, approximately R$1,980.

The former president announced the launch of the line during a convention for sneakerheads in Philadelphia.

“I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” Trump said, before urging young people to vote. The former president is the favorite in the race for the White House that takes place later this year.

After leaving Philadelphia, Trump is expected to appear at a rally in Michigan, his first campaign event since a New York judge ruled he must pay $354.9 million in fines. for inflating his own assets for more than a decade.

The state of Michigan will hold the Republican primaries, which decide who the party's presidential candidate will be, on February 27th and March 2nd.
