Trump not ‘man enough’ to testify on Capitol Hill, says Pelosi

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Sunday that “Former President Donald Trump is too cowardly to obey a subpoena from the United States Congress that forces him to testify on a special committee investigating his role in the attack. January 6, 2021 to the Capitol.”

“I don’t think he’s man enough to show up. I don’t think his lawyers are going to want him to show up because he has to testify under oath,” Pelosi said in an interview with MSNBC. “Let’s see if he’s man enough to show up,” he added.

Last Friday, the select committee announced that it had issued a subpoena to Trump, giving him until Nov. ex-president. The panel also informed Trump that it wants him to appear to testify on Nov. 14.

Since losing the 2020 election, Trump has insisted he is a victim of widespread election fraud, an allegation that has been rejected by dozens of court cases and audits.

However, Trump maintained that he did nothing illegal in pushing this case, including on the day of the Capitol riot.

Violence on Capitol Hill erupted as Trump supporters tried to prevent Congress from formally certifying Democrat Joe Biden’s decisive victory in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump and Pelosi had a long and tempestuous relationship.
