Trump orders change in California water management to fight fire

US President Donald Trump ordered on Sunday that the federal government canceled California’s state water management practices to reinforce fire -fighting efforts.

The executive order came two days after Trump visited the Los Angeles region, devastated by a series of forest fires.

The Republican claimed that Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom and other authorities refused to provide water from the northern part of the state to combat the fires.

Its order guides US Bureau of Complaint to provide more water and hydroelectric power through Central Valley Project, a network of dams, channels and other infrastructure, even if it conflicts with state or local laws.

Newsom spokeswoman Tara Gallegos stated that this would make no difference in her fire-fighting efforts, as the Los Angeles region gets most of her water from other sources and has no shortage.

Some hydrants in the Los Angeles area dried up during the peak of forest fires, but local authorities say it is because they were not designed to deal with such a large disaster.

“Trump is unaware of how water is stored in California or is deliberately fooling the audience,” Gallegos exclaimed. “There is no imaginary tap to magically make water appear in a forest fire, despite what the president claims.”

The Republican Order also guides the White House budget office to see if it can attach conditions to federal aid to the state to ensure cooperation.
