Trump plays and says that “I would like to be a Pope” after question about conclave

United States President Donald Trump was asked on Tuesday (29) if he has any preference about who the next Pope is. In the answer, he joked and said he would like to be a pontiff.

“I would like to be a Pope…. This would be my first option,” he said, continuing: “I don’t know. I have no preference [para próximo papa]”.

“I must say that we have a cardinal who happens to be from a place called New York and is very good, so we will see what happens,” he concluded.

Conclave should last a few days

Cardinals also said on Tuesday that the secret election that will elect the next Pope should last “two or three days.”

The conclave has no duration limit, and the longest lasted almost three years. However, the latest votes lasted no more than three days.
