Trump promises to lower interest rates and cut taxes

Donald Trump devoted part of his closing speech at the Republican Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to criticizing President Joe Biden’s handling of the US economy. “We have incompetent leadership,” the Republican said.

Trump has promised to lower interest rates and cut taxes for workers. The Republican has suggested cutting taxes on tips from waiters, waitresses and drivers.

During the speech he stated that he will reduce energy costs, including by increasing oil production through drilling.

“In my previous administration, people didn’t realize that taxes were so low. We brought in billions of dollars in investment. We’re going to pay down the debt and reduce interest rates. They (the Democrats) want to raise taxes fourfold,” he said.

“We have an inflation crisis that is making life unaffordable, devastating the incomes of working families and crushing our people,” he continued.

Siege against China

Trump again criticized China and said he will work to increase production of products in the US. “(The products) will have to be made in the USA,” he said.
