Trump rally message encourages mail-in voting; Republican opposed measure

Days after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump voiced opposition to mail-in voting in an interview, an electronic advertisement at an arena where he held a rally encouraged people at the venue to “secure your mail-in ballot today.”

The rally is taking place at 1st Summit Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The plaque also highlights important dates that voters in the state should remember.

The message is in line with Republicans’ ongoing effort to encourage voters in the state to cast ballots by mail.

The Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign this week announced a new website that provides easy access to Pennsylvania election resources, allowing voters to directly request their mail-in ballots.

But on the same day the campaign introduced swampthevote.com, Trump opposed mail-in voting during an interview with “Dr. Phil,” saying “mail-in ballots should not be allowed.”

“What we have to do is get control, and then we have to change this; it’s a very simple change: same-day voting, everybody votes,” the Republican stressed.
