United States President Donald Trump said on Friday that he believes it will be easier to deal with Moscow than to Kiev to reach a final deal to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin has “all cards.”
Trump said that “anyone” in Putin would be bombarding Ukraine, given the current battlefield dynamics. And although Trump said he wanted to help Ukraine, he said Kiev needed to “call” himself and work for a peace agreement.
“I think we’re going very well with Russia, but now they are bombarding Ukraine. And Ukraine, I’m finding it frankly more difficult to deal with Ukraine, and they don’t have the cards, ”Trump said in the Oval Hall.
“In terms of getting a final agreement, it can be easier to deal with Russia, which is surprising, because they have all the cards,” he continued.
Earlier this Friday, Trump threatened to make new sanctions to Russia, which has launched major attacks throughout Ukraine. However, in the Oval Hall, Trump still sounded a conciliatory note from Putin.
“In fact, I think he’s doing what anyone else would,” said Trump. “I think he wants to end it and solve.”
“He [Putin] It’s beating it [Zelensky]. And I think probably anyone in this position would be doing it now. He wants to end it, ”continued Trump.
