United States President Donald Trump said on Monday (12) that the Israeli-American hostage, Edan Alexander, will be released in the next two hours.
Edan’s mother, Yael Alexander, arrived in Reim, Israel, on Monday morning, before meeting with her son.
Hamas said it will free the hostage later this Monday, although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that there will be no ceasefire and plans for an intensified military campaign will continue.
The fighting will be interrupted to allow Edan’s safe passage, Netanyahu said.
Three Palestinians in Gaza told Reuters that the territory was calm from noon, without the sound of drones or war planes.
