Moments after the base-liver during a press conference at the Oval Hall, US Presidents Donald Trump, and Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, went to separated rooms in the White House.
After the discussion, the Ukrainians wanted negotiations with the United States to proceed. The White House, however, made it clear that it was time for them to leave, according to a source of the first level of the US government.
The chatter among heads of state occurred after criticism by Zelensky to the posture of the United States governments in the face of Russian actions for the annexation of Ukrainian territories, between 2014 and 2022.
Trump was annoyed and said that the Ukrainian was betting on millions of lives and the third world war – and repeated that Zelensky has no cards for negotiation. The US Vice President Jd Vance then said Zelenzky’s stance was of ingratitude. “How many times have you said ‘thank you’ at this meeting?” He asked.
The scene caused astonishment around the world. Journalists who have been covering the White House for years to have never seen anything like it, as at least in the televised portion of this kind of meeting the authorities often keep the composure – even that closed -door meetings are hard.
After the discussion, heads of state did not signed an agreement that provided for US mineral exploration on Ukrainian soil.
Although it is often called the “rare land agreement”, the rare land is just a small part of this agreement. The main focus is the large reserves of other valuable minerals, including graphite, lithium, titanium, beryllium and uranium. Although not chemically classified as rare lands, they are among the 50 minerals that are seen as essential for future economic growth.
