The Jan. 20 order attributes rising inflation during the pandemic, which has left many households under financial strain, to a number of factors, including high federal spending under the Biden administration and the cost of new regulations. “It is critical that we restore the purchasing power of the American family and improve our quality of life,” the executive order states.
