Trump suggests US help in Gaza: “Many people are starving”

United States President Donald Trump signaled on Friday that he wants the US to help deal with the situation in Gaza after a new wave of intense Israeli air strikes at night, stating that “many people are starving” and expects “many good things” next month.

“I think a lot of good things will happen next month, and we’ll see, we also have to help Palestinians,” Trump said to reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday when returning to the United States after his trip to the Middle East.

When asked by a reporter supported the Israeli plans to expand the war in Gaza, the president replied, “You know, many people are starving in Gaza, so we have to consider both sides.”

“But we will do a good job,” he added.

Earlier this Friday, speaking in the United Arab Emirates in the last stage of his visit to three Gulf countries, Trump said: “We are watching Gaza and we need to take care of it. Many people are starving. Many people. There are many bad things happening.”

The Israeli army intensified the operations in Gaza on Thursday (15), killing more than 100 people and promising to continue bombing, while Trump suggested the establishment of an “freedom zone” at the enclave. Many of the victims were in Jabalya, northern Gaza, and in Khan Youis in the South, according to the Gaza Civil Defense.

Still on Thursday, the president reiterated his desire to take control of the Gaza Strip, saying at a round-round table in Qatar that the United States “would turn it into a freedom zone.”
