THE Donald Trump encouraged his fans to go get vaccinated for the new coronavirus, despite the strong reservations that many of them have.
“I recommend it, and I recommend it to those who do not want it, many of whom voted for me,” Trump told Fox News.
«It is an excellent vaccine, it is a vaccine that is safe and effective“, Insisted the former Republican president.
On Monday, Jen Psaki, a White House spokeswoman, was blunt about the fact that the former Republican president did not take part in the mobilization to encourage the vaccination of the population.
“All the other former presidents in life (…) participated in the awareness campaigns, we did not need to address a special and official invitation to them,” said Ms. Psaki ironically.
The president Joe Biden, for his part, considered that this is not so important.
“I talked to the members of my team. “They told me that what doctors and local officials were saying was more important than anything Trump could say.”
Four former presidents, Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have been mobilizing in recent weeks, all sending a very simple message to their fellow citizens: get vaccinated. Donald Trump, for his part, remained on the sidelines of the initiative.
THE Donald and the Trump Inks were vaccinated in January, a few weeks before leaving the White House. The information was only revealed by people in their environment several weeks later.
Asked about his possible new candidacy for the White House in 2024, the former president preferred to avoid giving a clear answer, as broadcast by AMPE.
“According to all the polls,” Republican supporters “want me to be a candidate again,” he said. But “I will see, we will see”, the tycoon hastened to add.
However, Mr. Trump raised the issue of immigration, a battle tank of both his election campaigns: “hundreds of thousands” of migrants have already arrived at the southern borders of the country, he claimed.
