Trump “votes” Rome for meeting Putin – the phone call to Georgia Melon

US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, who allegedly discussed the possibility of organizing the meeting of the US state leader with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the Italian press, which refers to US sources, Washington and Rome would be ready to work together to be able to hold the summit in the eternal city and the Italian prime minister enthusiastically accepted the proposal. The Russian government, however, through the TASS news agency, replied that “a city should be selected outside Europe”. According to Italian commentators, Russia’s negative attitude is due to the fact that he considers the position of the Italian government in the Ukrainian “clearly biased”. For its part, Moscow has preferred the United Arab Emirates to make an appointment.
