US President Donald Trump has criticized the European Commission’s decision to impose a fine on Google and warned that the US could respond with commercial countermeasures. “Europe today attacked another major American company, Google,” he wrote on a post on the Truth Social platform. The US president warns that if the EU does not review the “unjust” fines imposed on Google and Apple, he will be “obliged” to implement the imposing tariff duty mechanism, the so -called “Article 301”. “We cannot allow this to happen to the brilliant and unprecedented American ingenuity and, if it happens, I will have to start the process of Article 301 to cancel the unfair penalties imposed on these taxpayers,” he added. The Commission announced earlier that it imposed a fine of $ 2.95 billion on Google for abusing its dominant position in the field of online ads.
