US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the US is very close to securing a nuclear deal with Iran and that Tehran has “somehow” agreed to the terms. “We are in very serious negotiations with Iran for long -term peace,” Trump said during a tour of the Gulf, according to an AFP report. New talks between Iranian and US negotiators to resolve disputes on Tehran’s nuclear program ended in Oman on Sunday and further negotiations are planned, officials said, as Tehran publicly insisted on continuing the Urani program. Although both Tehran and Washington have stated that they prefer diplomacy to resolve the nuclear dispute that lasts for decades, they remain deeply divided into several red lines that negotiators will have to bypass in order to reach a new nuclear deal.
