US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation early in the afternoon of Greece with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodimir Zelenski, after the disappointing, as Trump described, described a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the US news website Axios Trump and Zelenski discussed the escalation of Russian attacks in Ukraine and the supply of air defense systems. Zelenski’s officer Andriy Germak spoke of a “important conversation between presidents”. Trump, who had emphatically stated that Putin “seeks to settle” the war in Ukraine last week, pointed out yesterday after a new telephone conversation with him that he was “frustrated”, estimating that the Russian leader did not want him.
