Donald Trump announced today that he has nominated Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law and former adviser Jared Kushner, to be the US ambassador to France, in yet another controversial appointment of a man with a history of trouble with the judiciary. This real estate tycoon will be sent to Paris to “strengthen cooperation between the US and France, our oldest ally and one of our strongest,” the US president-elect said in a post on the social media site Truth Social.
