Trump’s “Great, Beautiful Bill” passed 51-49 his first obstacle to the Senate

The Republican -controlled US Senate voted in favor of the start of the debate on the sweeping bill by President Donald Trump’s taxes and expenditure, in a basic, however procedural, vote on Saturday night (local time). Trump’s basic legislative objective passed the first procedural obstacle with 51 votes in favor and 49 against, with two Republican senators voting against it. The result came after several hours of negotiation as Republican leaders and Vice President Jay Di Vance tried to persuade three Republican senators who appeared opposed, in a series of discussions of closed doors.
