The Yandex.Market service team announced the launch of a very useful function for the purchase of large household appliances and electronics before the November sales.
Users can now “try on” the selected TV or refrigerator to the apartment to check if they fit in the right place. It is noted that the function was created based on a survey of users.
The check can be carried out in the service application using the augmented reality (AR) mode. In total, the marketplace team has created more than 32 thousand 3D models of various large-sized equipment. These are simple models with an emphasis not on appearance, but on dimensions.
To try on large equipment, you need to open the Market application, in the product card, click on the yellow circle with a schematic cube and select AR view. After that, the smartphone camera turns on, you need to point it to the right place and wait a few seconds. As a result, the application will embed the 3D model of the product into the space on the screen. You can then move the phone to see from different angles whether the equipment fits where you need it.
Previously, Yandex.Market had detailed models of smaller products such as smartphones, game consoles and Yandex.Stations.
AR viewing works in the Yandex.Market app for iOS and Android on devices with augmented reality services installed. Also, viewing in AR mode works in the mobile version of the Safari browser. By the end of the year, it is planned to create simple 3D models for all products in the category of large equipment, for which the sellers have indicated the sizes.
