The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Tsavousoglu made known that his American counterpart Anthony Blinken invited him to Washington for talks, on May 18, as the two NATO allies begin an effort to improve and strengthen their long-standing relations.

Finally, Tsavousoglou said that he agreed with his Canadian counterpart Melanie Jolie work to overcome Ottawa-imposed embargo on Turkish defense industry, mainly banning the sale of instruments to Turkish drones Bayraktar TB2.
