Tsipras distances from Gerotziafa’s proposal for universal compulsory vaccination

An extreme measure that does not even constitute compulsory vaccination but “financial blackmail” and allows anyone who does not want to be vaccinated but can pay 100 euros per month to buy it, said Alexis Tsipras the government decision for compulsory vaccination of those over 60.

The President of SYRIZA, however, spent most of his speech in Parliament talking about “contradictions” of the government in its decisions while reiterating his position for “ordering” private beds.

In his deuterology, however, while Mr. Tsipras was asked directly by the Prime Minister whether he agrees with the proposal of his advisor Grotziafas for universal vaccination, he avoided taking a position.

In his third speech, referring to Geroziafa’s proposal, he distanced himself from his adviser, stating that the views of the advisers do not necessarily reflect the positions of the party or its leader.

In this context, Mr. Tsipras stated, among other things:

For months you wanted to convince me that compulsory vaccination is not an option. Mr. Plevris argued that it is unconstitutional. And now you are coming to impose unconstitutionality. On October 18 you said “I can not force anyone to be vaccinated, compulsory vaccinations have reached their limits, we are not going to submit other compulsory vaccinations”. Mr. Plevris said that the obligation conflicts with the Constitution, the CoC and the Bioethics Committee.

-You are a government that has lost eggs and lilacs in the most difficult time of the pandemic. You are in a panic, one white one black. -What you apply is not even mandatory vaccination. Because it concerns a specific age group. What you are doing is financially blackmailing and buying non-vaccination for those who can afford it.

– It is not morally possible for the person who examines the certificate from a citizen to be unvaccinated, when we told you this you were raising the issue of unconstitutionality.

– The decision you make carries risks for social cohesion, which is necessary for the pandemic that does not end here, but also for the outbreak of anti-vaccine demagogy.

– Apply a measure that is not in fact nor is it mandatory vaccination. In fact what you do with a fine without any sense of proportionality. Another is the katostariko for a pension of 500 euros and another for a citizen over 60 who has a large income. What you are doing is financial blackmail for the weak and the possibility of redeeming the right of denial for the well-to-do.

-The crucial issue is that today the NSS has collapsed. That 150 people are intubated outside the ICU. Give us data on how many deaths are outside the ICU?

-If in a magical way we managed to vaccinate all those who were not vaccinated, the dramatic situation in the NSS would not have subsided. You are well aware that the immune wall takes two months. If you are concerned about saving lives, will you take emergency measures? If today 150 of our fellow citizens are intubated outside the ICU, it means that in the immediate future we will need at least 200 ICUs. Order private clinics now. Create now as many ICUs as needed.

– You do not hire doctors not because they do not exist but because you are ideological. Your perception is that a basic NSS is “wasted money” and luxury, as Mr. Petsas and Mr. Skertsos told us.

-Your issue is to attack SYRIZA and Tsipras? with every argument that changes every week you attack us. Seek conciliation with the opposition. You failed. Authoritarianism is the last stage of failure and will be paid for by the whole Greek society.

-You are in a panic, Mr. Mitsotakis, and you change your mind overnight. He calls the opposition liars, the people of EINAP, OENGE, POEDIN, liars and the citizens who live the tragedy. You are the perpetrator of this tragedy that society is experiencing. Because you gave the wrong signals, and you did not make decisions.

– Do you agree with Mr. Pavlakis who is your advisor who says that we should proceed to local locks? Scientists express their views regardless of political expediency, without fear of political cost and this is a conquest of the Republic.

– But you discredited the scientists and left them out of the management of the pandemic and from the decisions that are exclusively yours. You are the perpetrator of the health tragedy experienced by the Greek people.
