Prosecutors in Turkey issued on Friday (15/10) arrest warrants against 224 people suspected of links to two different organizations, which the Turkish government considers terrorist.
A total of 115 of the suspects have already been arrested across Turkey, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported and relayed the APE-MPE, adding that 54 of those arrested are suspected of links to the far-left Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party / Front (DHKP / C).
The suspects are accused of planning attacks, Anatoli reported, without giving further details. The DHKP / C is believed to be behind major terrorist attacks in Turkey in 2013 and 2015.
The 61 are said to be related to Fethullah Gulen
Another 61 of those arrested, according to Anadolu, They had relations with the Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, who is based in the USA. These suspects are accused, among other things, of infiltrating the headquarters of the Turkish Gendarmerie.
The Turkish government has blamed Gulen for plotting a failed military coup in 2016 against the government of President Tayyip Erdogan. Gulen himself denies the allegations.
