According to the report, Turkey’s Tupras and STAR refineries significantly increased their intake of Russian oil, both Urals and Siberian Light, while reducing purchases of North Sea, Iraqi and West African grades.
Refinitiv data showed the STAR refinery bought about 90,000 bpd of oil from Russia from January to August 2022 on average, compared with 48,000 bpd in the same period a year earlier.
Tupras bought about 111,000 bpd of Russian oil on average during the period, down from just 45,000 bpd in the previous eight months, the data showed.
