THE Tansu Ziller (Tansu Çiller) is a Turkish politician, who was also the first (and only to date) female Prime Minister of the country.

During her tenure as Prime Minister, the Imia crisis also took place, which brought Greece and Turkey close to a hot war. From 1996 to 1997 he served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

She was accused of widespread corruption during her tenure as Prime Minister. He was repeatedly questioned by the Turkish Parliament on these charges, but was eventually acquitted of all of them, as nothing could be proven. In Turkey, it is considered by many that the scandal of that period was the springboard for the rise of Islamists to power.

In the November 2002 elections, her party failed to enter parliament and withdrew from politics.
