Istanbul President Ekrem Imamoglu is far ahead of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in the event of a presidential election, according to the latest Yöneylem poll published today by the opposition newspaper Cumhuriyet.
Specifically, Tayyip Erdogan receives 35% and Ekrem Imamoglu 51.2%, according to the results.
When asked if there would be elections this Sunday, what would you vote for, 26.9% answered the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), 26% the Republican People’s Party (CHP), 10.5% the Good Party, 7 , 9% the pro-Kurdish HDP, and 3.9% the far-right National Action Party.
When asked if they would vote for the governing alliance (People’s Alliance) or the opposition alliance (National Alliance), 32.4% answered the People’s Alliance and 40% the National Alliance. 15% answered the parties beyond the alliances.
62.8% believe that there is bad administration in Turkey. 6.4% want a return to the parliamentary system. 55.6% say they will never vote for Tayyip Erdogan and 32.6% say they will definitely vote. 54% say they will vote for anyone opposed to Tayyip Erdogan. 66.2% believe that the financial crisis is one of the most urgent issues that must be resolved immediately.
