Turkey declares “concern” about the Russian attack on the Ukrainian port of Odessaone day after the signing in Istanbul by Kyiv and Moscow of the agreement on the resumption of Ukrainian grain exports.
“The fact that such an incident happened right after the agreement we signed yesterday (…) really worries us,” Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said.
The Turkish minister called on all parties to continue cooperation within the framework of the grain export agreement.
Hulusi Akar added that Moscow told him it had nothing to do with the attack in Odessa.
“In our contact with Russia, the Russians told us that they have absolutely nothing to do with this attack and that they are examining the issue very closely and in detail,” the Turkish Defense Minister said in his statement.
