Turkey: Hagia Sophia to be in new Turkish passport, Erdogan says

According to Turkish media, the President of Turkey announced on Monday night (9/5) and shortly after the end of the meeting of the Council of Ministers that the preparations for the new passports have started a long time ago and are expected to be completed soon.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, however, stated the following on this issue: “We have created the infrastructure for the production of Turkish passports. Their supply is difficult due to the crisis with the chips. Our passport is one of the safest passports in the world. The work of the experts is very good and we are on the right track. Its pages will include Topkapi Palace at the top of the pages and will end with the first parliament building. Right in the center of the passport will be the Hagia Sophia. “We hope that our new passport, which will be issued to our citizens from August, will be beneficial for our country and our nation,” he said.
