Turkey has signed an agreement to supply 50 million doses of Sputnik V

THE Turkey has signed an agreement to supply 50 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19, which will start arriving next month, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said today.

“We are in the final phase of approving the emergency use of the Sputnik V vaccine and we have entered into an agreement for its supply. “Turkey has signed an agreement to receive 50 million doses within six months,” Koca said.

Turkey still uses the Chinese vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech Ltd and the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine. He has given 22 million vaccinations, while 13.5 million people have received a first dose.

On Monday, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced that a Turkish pharmaceutical company would produce the Russian Sputnik V vaccine at its factories in Turkey.
