The new cases of Covid-19 recorded at 44,756 Turkey in the last 24 hours, the highest number since the start of the pandemic, the Ministry of Health announced.
Turkey now ranks fifth, among all countries, in the seven-day average of recorded daily cases, according to a Reuters poll.
According to the data of the Ministry of Health, the cases amount to a total of 3.445 million. Another 186 people have died in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll from Covid-19 to 32,078.
Cases have risen since the government eased measures in early March and new records have been set daily for the past five days. On Monday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the resumption of some measures and the total lockdown for the weekends during Ramadan, which begins this year on April 13.
