THE Turkey reopens its embassy in Ukraine in the capital Kyiv, after having temporarily transported it in March for security at the border with Romania, was announced by the embassy.
“We had temporarily relocated our operations to the town of Chernivtsi, which had become the logistics center for evacuation efforts. “Today we returned to Kyiv, to our home,” the Turkish embassy in Ukraine announced on Tuesday night via its Internet account.
According to the private Turkish television channel NTV, as broadcast by AMPE, the embassy resumed its activities in the Ukrainian capital this morning.
THE Anchor had moved its embassy on March 11th to Chernivtsi, in southeastern Ukraine, about 40km from the Romanian border.
Turkey had evacuated its embassy staff “for security reasons,” a Turkish Foreign Ministry official told AFP as the Russian army approached the Ukrainian capital.
