Turkey: Second in world inflation after Zimbabwe

Inflation in Turkey reached a high of 20 years, reaching 61.14% for March and now neighboring Turkey is second in the world in inflation behind Zimbabwe.

According to SKAI, the Minister of Finance, Nureddin Nebati, promised to reduce inflation with… faith, determination and confidence.

“At the end of the year we expect a reasonable rate of inflation, in the context that we plan. We will experience a reduction in inflation. It is a difficult period, we know the difficulties, we know that it irritates us, it bites us. But we know we will succeed. With faith, determination and trust, “Nebati said.

According to Turkstat statistical service, the consumer price index jumped to 61.14% in March compared to the same month last year. In February, inflation had reached 54.44%.

Transportation recorded the largest annual increase, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Consumer prices on a monthly basis increased by 5.46% in March, while in February they had increased by 4.81%.
