Turkey: Tear gas and arrests at 2015 terrorist attack rally

The police in Turkey made use of tear gas and proceeded to arrests to citizens who paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the bloodthirsty terrorist act of 2015.

According to the APE-MPE, the police with tear gas tried to disperse citizens who had gathered to honor the memory of the victims of a terrorist act committed in Ankara six years ago, according to the online edition of the Cumhuriyet newspaper.

According to the state-run Anadolu news agency, police made 22 arrests.

According to the news website bianet, the authorities only allowed the families of the victims and some representatives of non-governmental organizations to gather in front of the train station, where the terrorist act had taken place.

Participants in the rally held black balloons and placed red carnations on the ground.

Turkey: Terrorist attack with more than 100 victims

On October 10, 2015, two suicide bombers detonated explosives with which they had lived during a peace march in front of the train station, killing more than a hundred people. It was one of the worst terrorist attacks in modern Turkish history.

The Turkish government has denied responsibility for the massacre in Islamic State (IS), although the jihadist group has never claimed responsibility.
