Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pasinian will visit Turkey where he will have talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday. This is a rare bilateral visit, during which Armenia hopes to restore strained relations and reopen their common land borders after decades of hostility. The two neighboring countries do not have official diplomatic relations amid a legacy of deep historical hostility stemming from the mass murder of the Armenians during World War I by the forces of the Ottoman Empire, considered genocide by Armenia and many other countries.
