Turkey’s first Blockchain-Metaverse Expo to be held in Istanbul

The head of the Public Relations Department under the Turkish Presidential Administration, Fahrettin Altun, said that the first industry exhibition Blockchain-Metaverse Expo will be held in Istanbul at the end of the year.

Fahrettin Altun spoke on Friday with an opening speech at the TRT International Metaverse and Broadcasting Forum in Istanbul. The forum announced the first industry fair “Blockchain Expo World”, which will be held in Istanbul from December 22 to 25.

According to Altun, “Turkey should make every possible effort to participate in the process of creating metaverses.” He stated that he has no doubts that domestic companies will succeed in new areas such as Web3 and the metaverse. Altun expressed his hope that Turkish companies will take steps to become world leaders in the field of the metaverse, adding:

“Metaverses should serve for the benefit of humanity, and we believe that a power like Turkey should be part of the process of building a metaverse by all means.”

The fair will bring together almost all parties interested in the development of blockchain, cryptography and metaverses at the Istanbul Exhibition Center. At the same time, exhibition events will be held simultaneously at the site of the Istanbul center and a specially created location in the metaverse. Thanks to this, visitors from all over the world will be able to visit the fair virtually.

It is expected that the event will be attended by well-known figures of the cryptocurrency industry, solution providers and software developers. They will introduce participants to the prospects for the industry and the development directions of the metaverse, the use of blockchain technologies, NFT, Web3, as well as the prospects for DAO, DeFi and GameFi projects.

In May of this year, it became known that Turkish legislators are taking the initiative to submit projects to the Parliament that are designed to strengthen control over the cryptocurrency market and introduce taxation of a number of transactions with digital assets.
