Turkish analysts on F-35 acquisition from Greece: ‘It’s like a robot, nothing to do with F-16’

The further armament of Greece with its inclusion in the F-35 program “will change the balance in the Aegean”, comment Turkish analysts.

As reported by SKAI, the concern of the Turkish side about the future acquisition of American fighter aircraft from Greece is intense. In Haber Turk, experts said that the F-35s “will make a big difference in the Aegean”.

Gürcel Tokmakoglou, former intelligence director of the Turkish Air Force, comparing the F-35s with the Turkish F-16s, noted that they have nothing to do with each other, stressing that these are aircraft that will also be supported by the US through the systems they have.

“The F-35 is another thing. And with an F-35 aircraft, the US is coming at you. A single F-35 uses the US network system. In the event that one of our F-16s engages in a dogfight with a Greek F -35, they will support it with their own forces as well. That if you put it in a war situation means a lot,” he explained.

According to him, an F-35 works as a semi-autonomous robot: “The F-16 is not like that, the pilot uses it, it’s just that the new aircraft will be able to take advantage of the F-35’s systems.”

Meanwhile, Hurriyet reports on the market anti-drone systems of the Greek side which, as it characteristically mentions on its front page, “the Turkish drones are blinding”.
